Getting ready for All Saints Day (November 1st)
With Halloween approaching in the US, here in Spain we’re getting ready for All Saints’ Day—a time for flowers, not candy, as we honor loved ones at the cemetery. Here’s a glimpse from my walk today, with some of the beautiful blooms I picked up🌞🍂💐 Happy Halloween to those celebrating!

A small taste of spring!
This is what spring looks like in my tiny village this April: cherry, pear and apple blossoms, an orange cat, some violets, a daffodils, yellow wild ranunculus, wild strawberry plant, and tiny pansies. Some disgusting bug ate all my peony blossom buds, so no peonies this year for me.

I really love those flowers… so much that I have actually planted them in my tiny village, Los Barrios de Gordón, in León (Spain). This is how my painting goes: The final result will be posted here. I still want to add more orange to those flowers 🙂
Simple holiday accent with picks
If you love decorating like I do, I bet you already have lots of small picks and ribbons bought. Here’s a simple way to put them to use this year as small accents throughout the house. Start with two similar picks or two of the same design. Then add something else to break the symmetry…
Dahlias
This year, I have a lovely array of dahlias: whites, maroons, café au lait hues, and purples. The last pic is my favorite mocktail this season: red grape juice, lemon sorbet, and guava-lemon sparkling water. 🌸🍹
