My little village, from a bird’s eye view

Hi everyone!

As many of you know I am from Spain. And today I want to specify from which part exactly. The little village where my family is from is called Los Barrios de Gordón (Google maps) and it is really small. Like 100 people small.

This is a video my friend Alfonso (@ayaval), who is a great photographer, recorded earlier this year. You will be able to see the mountains around the village and how green it gets on spring.

We are at 1100 meters over sea level so, the village gets very cold in winter and even on august summer nights you will need a cardigan. My fiancé says I am from Winterfel, and that’s ok with me, as long as I don’t get a Stark-worthy dead (GOT nerd reference).

In the video you’ll see a large cross on top of a mountain. Back in the 10th Century there was a castle on top of that mountain. In the 80’s a priest who was born in our village had the idea of building this cross. And the neigbours helped doing it.

See you all in my next country life post.
